Learning Platform

The JISC RSC YH Learning Platform can be accessed at http://vle.rsc-yh.ac.uk/moodle or via the website menu. It is a structured virtual learning environment that can be used for a number of purposes: as a source of information, as a repository for sharing knowledge, to exchange and share information in our user groups, for uploading course material and for scheduled virtual workshops. All supported learning providers have access to the Learning Platform.

Exchange/e-Bulletin

To keep you up-to-date, the JISC RSC YH regularly posts details of news, events, funding opportunities and free resources on JISC RSC YH Exchange. Get the RSS feed or bookmark Exchange for all the latest developments, divided into appropriate sectors. You can also sign up to receive the fortnightly e-bulletin digest of the most important recent posts. If you wish to receive this, please email support@rsc-yh.ac.uk with details of your name, job title, organisation and the email address you wish to subscribe.

Social Network

Go to http://myrscyhspace.ning.com to join the JISC RSC YH social network site. Share and discuss ideas and developments in e-learning. This is an informal space to create your own page. Upload your photos and videos and view contributions made by other members. Write and read blogs, make and view podcasts. Ask questions and share good practice. This is a site owned by its members.

Discussion Lists

Belonging to a list is rather like sitting in on a discussion. You can join in the talk, start a discussion, or simply listen. It may be used to discuss work with others in a similar role, share news, collaborate on projects and publications, announce conferences, arrange meetings or just to keep in touch with colleagues who have the same job role. Join discussion lists relevant to you at www.jiscmail.ac.uk. Once you have been added to the list you will automatically receive messages sent to the list by other members and you can also search the list archive.

Newsletter/Information Documents

Out termly newsletter contains a round-up of all developments within e-learning and the JISC RSC YH. It is distributed to ‘key contacts’ within supported learning providers. See our Newsletter page for recent copies.

Our recently published booklet 5 Ways to use Your RSC identifies ways your RSC can save you money. Download your copy now.
