Federated Access Management (FAM) lies at the heart of UK FE organisations and has far-reaching implications for facilitating learning and access to resources for the twenty-first century learner.
As you may well be aware, since the 1st August 2008 JISC has adopted federated access management as part of an overarching vision for a single sign-on for the entire education and research community and urges all learning providers to review their access management strategy. Many colleges and universities have already done so, drawn by the many benefits of the federated access approach, including greater flexibility and security.
The JISC RSC YH team are happy to visit supported colleges within our region to discuss your Federated Access Management options and to establish an action plan.
Guidance is also available on our learning platform, including case studies from organisations that have implemented FAM. Click on this link to access the FAM area. If you would like to request a log-in for this area, or require support, please contact Scott Hibberson, e-Learning Advisor (Learning Resources) or Ken Scott, e-Learning Advisor (Technical) via support@rsc-yh.ac.uk.
